FireFox 3.5 Pagerank plugin

The upgrade to the new FireFox 3.5 causes the nice Live Pagerank plugin by Martin of raketforskning to be deactivated.

Although his URL means “rocket science”, his site seems to be down so I wouldn’t expect an updated version too soon.

Luckily a nice guy named Daniel Olivares has created a new version which runs on FireFox 3.5.

If you own one or more sites the little number that appears in the FireFox status bar is an addiction. The Google Toolbar offers the same, but of course you don’t want the whole package and that’s why this add-on is so popular.

Edit: at the time of writing this new version worked, but it seems like it no longer does. Neither does the one downloadable on the official plugins site (although some users report it does, e.g. with firefox 3.7).

    Google has removed the PageRank indicator from their own Toolbar.
    PageRank information is probably no longer returned when querying them. In that case, no FireFox plugin will be able to show it.

    Thanks for the link! I used the google toolbar translator to translate the page link you gave. This fix worked perfectly for me, I can now see the page rank of any page I visit in the bottom left-hand corner.

    Are you sure that google got rid of the page rank check tool? I have google toolbar installed–a fresh and recent version, and it also shows the page rank. However, I prefer the numerical display this plugin gives.

    I read this about the Google Toolbar some time ago. Forgot where…

    It doesn’t for me. I’ve added a note to the post above about this.
    Seems like no more Live Pagerank plugin for now…
    (unless it really works in FireFox 3.7 – which I did not test)
